So much for accountability
This should piss off everyone, when we people wake up and see we are losing our nation.
American Thinker had a great article today, everyone should read it.
"The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been exempted from almost all Freedom Of Information (FOI) requests by the "financial reform" bill. This is what the Obama administration means by transparency: A business should record and report every minute detail, save every document, on the other hand the government body that oversees the regulation of business has almost no public accountability at all. "

Outrage
Everyone should look into seeing what their city council and mayors/city planners make.
This wont be the last you hear of these guys stealing money. That's exactly what it is, that city planner was making 800,000 a year... Its theft straight up.

Paul Ryan (R) rocks
Congressmen Paul Ryan (R) has the right idea for the economy. Although he voted for TARP, nobody is perfect and we should all read his road map. I have read most of it and it makes alot of common sense.
BTW Mathews got owned, all the guy does is gotcha reporting.

Mass. Legislature approves plan to bypass Electoral College
I am not sure how I take this article, but it doesn't seem correct to me, I am also wondering if there is a constitutional argument.

What it Means to me
I have lived all over the world. I am currently living in Italy. I have come to understand some fundamental beliefs about what being an American and most important living in the US really means to me.
When I was younger I did have a adventurous spirit. I loved travel and seeing new things. I lived in a lot of places in the US, California, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, Indiana to name a few and I have visited almost every state in the union. Unlike a lot of people I have also traveled and lived overseas, Bosnia, Epypt, Kuwait, Iraq, Italy to name a few. I mention this because I firmly believe you have to stand in the other yard in order to see that the grass is not always greener.
As I mentioned I currently live in Italy and have drawn some very real life experiences here. Some good, some bad, and I won’t bore you with details. However I see the political landscape in the US from a distance and it’s a very scary place and we as a country are traveling down a road where you won’t be able to separate the states from Europe. Now to all those that would say America is broken right now. My first question would be have you ever lived anywhere else? Not visited on vacation, but lived. Rented or bought a home, set up utilities, internet or dealt with other government bureaucracy and procedures? I would guess that most of the comments I would get back would be “ummmmm No”
The US is a remarkable place on earth. “Or use to be”. We had true religious tolerance. My neighbor could pray to what ever god he or she wished and everyone accepted it. Not anymore the ACLU took care of that. Anyone can stand on a street corner and voice his opinion “Peacefully”, without the government coming down on them. Not anymore, I have heard more politicians cry that the people that have gathered at tea-parties are racist, stupid, hate mongers etc…then ever before. We had a media “By the way I should mention” The only media on EARTH that has the true freedoms to be watchdogs of a government. No other country in the world has this. Yet they have chosen a side and are no longer representing the only constituent that they have. “ALL THE PEOPLE of ALL Views” Now they can not be trusted. Our schools are no-longer institutions of learning. They are factories, where the product being built is not smart, hardworking, self confident people, but people who have learned that its ok to be mediocre, that failure is an option and that no-matter what happens you don’t need to strive for excellence our government is there to make sure you get what they have.
As I said I have lived all over and one thing I have always said to myself was there is no place like home. But now I have been catching myself saying, It doesn’t matter if I move back home, it will all be the same soon. And frankly that is a very scary thought.
One Halloween
One Halloween night when I was young, we sat down as a family and with one of the gigantic laser disks watch the movie “Halloween”. My mom, dad, my sister pooh and my brother and his friend Mike was all excited about watching the scary movie. Of course I was young and begged to stay up with everyone to watch it. After the movie was over it was probably around 11 O’clock at night and I was scared shitless. If I was more observant you could have probably seen the Oh crap look in my parents face as they realized that the movie was probably not the most family fun movie to watch on Halloween night, But soon my brother would open the door for one of the funniest memories I had growing up.
Dave, being Dave had to spout off “That wasn’t scary”. And mom and dad, being mom and dad cherished the opportunity to knock Dave down a peg. Mom answers back with Dave’s comment “Dave I will give you a dollar for every golf ball you and Mike can bring back from the golf course down the street” Now Dave, being Dave knows he doesn’t want to do this, and his friend Mike is sitting there thinking, NO Dave NO. But not to let a challenge slide passed Dave he accepts. Now its midnight, in the country and Dave and Mike start walking down the driveway toward the road to make the long trek down to the golf course.
As soon as they start walking down the road Dad looks at me and with a look of complete joy, “Craig go get your Halloween mask”. Seeing how excited my parents had become at the thought of teaching David he is not as cool as he thinks he is, I run and grab the Halloween mask. Dad puts on the mask and runs across the yard like I have never seen him run before and we lose site of him as he jumps the fence into the field next door. So as Dave and his friend are walking down the street dad in a mask is running to the site of the ambush.
Dave and Mike slowly walk down the road flipping rocks and are trying to talk about anything other then the fact they both a scared shitless. As they are flipping rocks and spouting words of encouragement to each other they here a noise in the bushes. With a gulp they dismiss it as the wind and continue walking down the road. As they hear a limb break the both stop, thinking Man its nothing just the wind… After a moment of silence Dad see’s the opportunity to strike,. With wearing the mask I gave him, Dad jumps from the bushes with the loudest RAWWWR, We heard it from the porch. You hear Dave scream like a little girl and with the speed of flash Gordon himself was on the porch leaving his friend Mike alone to deal with the threat. Mike turns to run and as he turns he throws the handful of rocks at dad and yells “You cocksucker” and heads for the house. Dave yellow faced and scared beyond belief realizes he had been had when everyone is outside at the front of the house laughing hysterically. But one thing is for sure, that night I didn’t lay in bed scared, rather I laid in bed whispering to Dave, “You screamed like a girl” as I fell asleep.
